About the FAQ

The TriPay Payroll FAQ was born not long after the end of the 2001-02 tax year. After the gibbering and twitching had stopped, someone said, "Wouldn't it be a good idea to put the answers to all these common questions somewhere on the website so that the users can look up answers for themselves?"

This seemed like a particularly good idea, especially to those of us who had spent the last four weeks answering the same dozen questions, dozens of times a day. Such a good idea, in fact, that we wondered why we hadn't thought of it before. This FAQ is the result.

The topics it covers are all real questions that have been asked of our support desk over the years, the kind of questions that new users ask or that the old hands like to check up on for things they only do once a year. We've left out the really obscure, gnarly, four-mugs-of-coffee-and-a-whole-packet-of-chocolate-digestives questions because, well, we need to leave something for you to ring us up about.

This version of the FAQ includes the statutory changes for tax year 2004-05 and a few tidy-ups and typo fixes.
